The Word

We are starting a new teaching series during Student Worship on Wednesday nights called, “The Word”. We will be discussing the importance of plumbing the depths of God’s Word each day and the benefits to us in being disciplined in partaking of His riches. So what’s so important about the Word of God?

  1. It is Timeless– The word of God never changes, it is as applicable now as it was 2000 years ago, and it’s importance will never fade with age.

  2. It is useful– There is not one thing in our lives that the Bible doesn’t touch on. You may think that there are many modern issues that the Bible doesn’t specifically address, but I would go back to Ecclesiastes 1:9- “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.”

  3. God desires us to know Him– We know the character of God by reading the book that is about Him. If you have ever wondered why you don’t love God more it is because we do not read words written about Him and inspired by Him so that we can know Him.

I want you to take this journey of discovering The Word anew with us. Below you will find the outline for what we will be studying each week,  but that’s not all. I have developed a reading plan to go along with each week’s teaching time. Each week there are 5 days of readings/discussion questions. Just a few verses and 1-3 questions to help you process what you have read that day. Click on the link below to check out the reading plan and be sure to check out our Student Ministry facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/fbcstudentministry/) on Wednesday nights at 6pm CST to catch our live stream for the large group teaching time.
